Dr. Pierre Canisius Ruterana is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages, University of Rwanda. He has been teaching writing skills in English and translation courses since 1998. He obtained his PhD from the University of Linköping, Sweden, in 2012. The topic of his PhD thesis is: The Making of a Reading Society: Developing a Culture of Reading in Rwanda (2012). His research interests focus on emergent literacy development issues in Rwanda, more specifically on the making of a reading society.
